A Touch Of Light!
Magic Plantern is a modern planter lamp inspired by the iconic 70’s magic touch lamps. It turns your real, living plant into a touch-activated light control. By gently touching the leaves, the lamp switches on or off or dims smoothly, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere.
Magic Plantern combines natural materials, living plants, and functional lighting in a simple, well-balanced design. It features a ceramic planter body, a solid white ash wood base, and integrated LED technology, all brought together in a compact form that fits easily into everyday spaces. The lamp is designed for indoor use and works with most succulents.
Each piece is made to be easy to use, visually calm, aesthetic, and long-lasting. Our goal is to create lighting that feels natural in your home — adding warmth, softness, and a subtle connection to nature without unnecessary complexity.
How Magic Plantern Works?
Add a thin layer of clay stone pebbles to the bottom of the planter to improve drainage. Insert the sensor “antennas” deep into the plant’s root area, placing them as close to the stem as possible.
Place the plant into the pot and fill with soil if needed. Avoid moving the sensors once positioned.
Plug the lamp into a power source and switch it on. Touch the plant to turn the light on or off. Holding your touch slightly longer adjusts the brightness.
Water the plant in small amounts only to prevent the soil from becoming overly wet. Excess moisture can affect touch sensitivity.
If the lamp does not respond, allow the soil to dry for 2–3 days and try again. In rare cases, replanting the plant with fresh soil may be necessary.
The best plants for Magic Plantern
For the best results, we recommend succulent plants. Succulents are hardy, low-maintenance, and require only minimal watering, making them ideal for everyday use with Magic Plantern. They adapt well to indoor conditions and stay visually balanced in the planter without frequent care.
Popular succulents that work especially well include Echeveria, Haworthia, Aloe, Crassula (Jade Plant), and Sedum. These plants have compact root systems and firm leaves, making them easy to plant and comfortable to interact with.
That said, Magic Plantern is not limited to succulents only. You’re welcome to experiment with other small houseplants that fit the planter and prefer moderate watering. The most important factor is choosing a healthy plant that suits your indoor environment and care routine.
Please note: the plant is not included in the box.

I was one of the first lucky ones to have this magic planter touch lamp. It fits perfectly with my other planters and is beautifully made, could be a little smaller though. Bravo!

I gave this as a gift to my grandmother, who owned the original 70s Magic Plantern back in the days. She was delighted. She did mention the cords could be a bit longer, but otherwise — a wonderful gift.

As a real plant lover, this one was a great addition to my planter collection. Adds a cozy mood light to the corner and looks lovely. I was waiting to get my hands on this magic planter for a long time!!!
Frequently asked questions
How does the touch control work?
Inside the base are sensor antennas placed in the root ball. When you touch the plant, your body slightly changes the electric field, and the lamp turns on, off or dims in response.
Does it harm the plant?
No. The sensor does not damage the roots, and the plant doesn’t “feel” the signal. Just plant as usual and water correctly – your plant will grow as it normally would.
What plants work best?
We recommend small succulents and hardy houseplants (e.g. echeveria, haworthia, sansevieria, jade). They like the drier soil and are easy to care for. You can experiment with other small plants and greens as well.
What is included in the box?
You receive the ceramic vase with wooden base and built-in LED and sensors, white cable with switch and driver plug, and an instruction booklet.
Not included: plant, soil and clay pebbles.
Why doesn’t the lamp turn on after watering?
If the soil is very wet, the sensor may stop working temporarily. This is normal. Water lightly only when the soil is dry; after watering, it can take 2–3 days for the soil to dry and the lamp to work again.
